A grand all-weather yacht by a famous designer, for sale after the death of an owner who spent 28 years building her with a fine teak-laid deck and only 3 years cruising. 2 berths in 2 cabins, 1992 little-used Yanmar diesel engine.

Sails: Immaculate white Dolphin 1992 mainsail and No 1 Genoa, unused 1992 Dolphin storm jib, black PVC mainsail cover.

Rig: Kemp black alloy mast and boom with stainless steel rigging, pulpit, guard rails, coachroof grabrails and lifelines.

Engine: Yanmar YSB 5.21kW [7hp] single cylinder low profile heavy duty marine diesel, raw water cooled by rotary pump, installed new in 1992. Max speed under power about 6 knots. Cruising speed 5 knots with 3-bladed bronze propeller. Consumption approximately one quarter of a gallon per hour. Electric starter. Reduction and reversing gear with single disc plate mechanical clutch [wet type]. 12 volt battery. Ammeter, water temperature and oil pressure gauges.

Hull: Tyler grp hull moulding in original red gelcoat with teak decks.

Deck gear: Tiller steering, with extension, Bruce anchor with chain, two Lewmar 7 single speed sheet winches, one Lewmar 9 single speed halyard winch, mooring warps and fenders. Masthead navigation lights. Black pvc dodgers, stainless steel boarding ladder. Overall yard tarpaulin.

Safety gear: Distress flares, fire extinguisher, manual bilge pump, lifebuoy.

Navigation equipment: Depth sounder, wind vane at masthead.

Accommodation: Saloon well-fitted out in wood with 2 berths in saloon, cushions, teak-laid cabin sole, stainless steel ventilator, aluminium forehatch, Portaloo lavatory in focsle.

LECK, named after a North Lancashire village, is offered for sale on the hard at Hesketh Bank, near Preston, Lancashire, GB, just as her owner was refitting, with varnishing work unfinished. She was carefully fitted out for a quarter of a century before he launched her in 2003 for a few seasons successful cruising in the Irish Sea. The Sadler builder's drawings are included. Antifouled in 2005, engine serviced annually.
