Engine: Volvo 23 hp two cylinder diesel, rebuilt in 2000 with many new parts, including new fuel system, new exhaust and water trap, new piston rings, bearing shells, new fuel filter and water separator; 10 gallon fuel tank; raw water cooling; nearly seven knots maximum speed and five knots cruising speed, consuming approximately 1/3 gallon per hour (1.26 litres / hour). Steel 10 gallon [37.8 litre] fuel tank.

Deck Gear: 35lbs CQR bower anchor with 30 metres of chain, 15lb kedge anchor with various warps, stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardrails, AQUILON dodgers, boarding ladder, boathook, boom tent, two sheet winches, two halyard winches, six fenders and assorted warps.

Safety Equipment: Two 2001 Firemaster fire extinguishers, bilge pumps, first aid box, three lifejackets, two harnesses.

Navigation equipment: Navigation, tricolour masthead and steaming lights; compass, Seafarer depth sounder, log, Navico TP100 autopilot, hand held GPS satellite navigation with deck fitting and 12 volt connection.

Below Decks:Five berths in two cabins. Galley has foot pumped water to one stainless steel sink. Gas cooker with two rings and grill. Built-in coldbox. Sea lavatory in separate heads compartment forward, with hanging locker. Pans, cutlery and crockery. Flexible 25 gallon [95 litre] fresh water tank. Many storage lockers.

Westerly Centaur achieved the best sailing performance of any production bilge-keeled sailing vessel. Self-draining cockpit.

Aquilon is afloat on the Conwy River in North Wales.
